Some changes on the YouTube experimental interface

Today YouTube is launching a new homepage with carousels. This change also affect to the experimental interface. And, if we go to a channel, now we can see that the "Videos" tab show four columns, and no three.

Here's how you can enable the experiment:

  • Go to YouTube and load your browser's developer console:
    • Google Chrome: Tools, Developer Tools
    • Mozilla Firefox: Web Developer, Web Console
    • Internet Explorer: Developer Tools (F12), Console
  • Copy and paste the following code:
    document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=mgY-gGUf9rE; path=/;";window.location.reload();
  • Press Enter and you'll see the experiment.

If doesn't work, try this other method:

  • Open Chrome and install this extension.
  • Go to YouTube and select "Edit Cookies" option on the context menu:
  • Find a cookie named VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE and replace the value with this cookie value:
  • Click "Submit cookie changes" and refresh the page.

  1. Thanks! It changed back for me for some reason after one month of using it.. It's so much better and hides everything that you don't need but keeps everything quickly accessible.. this is the best lay out ever, I'm glad I found this new code to get it back! Do you mind if I ask you how you found out this particular code (mgY-gGUf9rE)? I spent hours searching for this and saw multiple different codes which were for previous versions..

    By the way, is there a way to opt in for these layout changes? I often give feedback and would like to test some stuff as early as I can..
